Comenius University in Bratislava, the Faculty of Law, hereby invites you to the third year of an international academic conference “Bratislava Legal Forum 2016” which will be held on 21st and 22nd October 2016 under the auspices of Andrej Danko, the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
The major topic of the plenary session is “Alternatives for the Direction of the EU – Integration or Disintegration“. The conference will be held on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of delivering the very first lecture at the Faculty of Law by Professor Augustín Ráth who was the first dean of the Faculty of Law at CU in Bratislava and the first Slovak rector of Comenius University in Bratislava.
The primary objective of the conference is to interconnect legal science with practice, present up-to-date issues and challenges faced by EU law and thus provide an excellent opportunity for holding discussions. In accordance with this objective, the conference is divided into plenary session and thematically oriented parallel sessions organized within sections which focus on current issues and challenges of modern Slovak, European and international law.
Date of the conference: 21st to 22nd October 2016 (Friday and Saturday)
Venue: Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava (Šafárik Square No. 6, Bratislava)
Language of the conference: Slovak, Czech, English (plenary session and selected sections)
Deadline for applications: 30th September 2016 including the submission of the title and abstract of the paper. This information will be available on the website of the conference from the time of the registration. Those interested in participation who will have registered by 15 July 2016 will be charged a reduced conference fee in the amount of EUR 70. The registration may only be carried out via an online registration system on the conference website at www.lawconference.sk/bpf2016.
Deadline for submitting a complete paper: 1st November 2016 – form requirements for the paper and instructions for drafting the paper will be available on the website of the conference at www.lawconference.sk/bpf2016.
Conference fee: EUR 70 (excl. VAT) – the fee may be paid solely by means of a wire transfer based on an e-invoice which will be issued upon the registration for the conference.
Accommodation: accommodation in the Tatra hotel located in the Bratislava city centre may be booked for the participants of the conference at discounted prices (the accommodation shall be arranged and the respective costs shall be borne by the participants on their own) – further information is available on the website of the conference at www.lawconference.sk/bpf2016.
Conference proceedings: Reviewed conference proceedings with an ISBN No. assigned to it will be produced in an electronic (CD-ROM) form and will be permanently accessible on the conference website and incorporated in the library database systems as well. Kindly note, that only the papers of the participants who will attend the discussions at the conference will be published.
